This HttpWatch application installs a plug-in in the Windows Internet Explorer versions 6 and 7 for viewing and saving (if desired) cookies, post data, detailed html information, redirection, compression, etc.
It includes an auxiliar application named 'HttpWatch Studio' for displaying the HttpWatch saved log files and later examination.
The application is useful for checking a site for security purposes and avoiding to send or expose user sensitive information data.
Once the application is installed, it gets integrated with Windows Internet Explorer 6 or 7. When user accesses the browser and navigates the web, it will record and save HTTP information from the visited web site. It also will display the decrypted form of the traffic in an automatic manner, and allows user to observe headers, cookies, query strings values, etc. as well as the HTTP data itself. By saving the created log files, the user has a complete record of the web traffic.
With the included 'HttpWatch Studio' auxiliary application, it is possible to study the traffic flows and results.
Only a couple mouse clicks are necessary for the application to start working, without needing any further configuration. Once is running, user will not notice that it is in between the Internet Explorer and the web site, so the general performance is measured in real time.
The HttpWatch recorded data can be easily accessed from any application developed with most of the programming languages. |
